Practise the joins before you assemble a real PDF sewing pattern.

PDF Pattern Assembly Trainer is a free, small Sewlore learning tool. Turn four sample sheets until the solid outline continues and the registration crosses meet. Then try the calibration exercise: a square that measures 50 mm wide but 48 mm high should not pass just because one side looks right.

What you can do

  • Select, rotate and place four original sample sheets in a 2 × 2 practice board.
  • Use drag-and-drop, or complete every step with tile and placement buttons. Tab and Enter/Space work without dragging.
  • Read joining feedback, swap sheets and reset the exercise.
  • Compare an A4 and US Letter page-format diagram without changing the drawing scale.
  • Check both axes of a hypothetical 50 mm calibration square and see the percentage error in each direction.
  • Download the source/offline version and open app/index.html in a browser.

Before working with your real pattern

The puzzle uses invented geometry and illustrative square join windows, not a full-size sewing pattern or an actual paid design. The paper-format selector changes the little page diagram. It does not resize the practice drawing or produce a print-ready garment template.

Follow the trim/overlap and border instructions supplied with your actual pattern. Match its registration marks and verify its own printed calibration square. Do not measure this screen. The app's ±0.5 mm threshold is a practice choice, not a promise about your printer or a manufacturer's required tolerance.

Continue with Sewlore's printing and assembly guide and print scale checker.

Install instructions

Play the trainer in your browser on this page. For offline use, download the source ZIP, extract the entire archive and open app/index.html in a current web browser. Keep the bundled CSS and JavaScript files beside index.html. No build step or additional library is required. State resets on reload.

The HTML runtime ZIP contains index.html at its root; after extracting that archive, open index.html. This is a synthetic assembly exercise, not a print-ready garment pattern. Check the calibration square supplied with your real pattern.
